The Lighthouse of Patras was constructed for first time at the waterfront of St. Nicholas, where he remained until 1972, when it was demolished. In 1999,the president of the Port Authority of Patras, John Dimaras decided to build a model of the old lighthouse, but this time southern, near the Church of St. Andrew. Now the lighthouse does not have any naval usefulness but is one of the most beautiful sights of the city. The Lighthouse of Patras is found to the port area of Patras Municipality, while a few meters away there is a spacious and free parking. In the area of the Lighthouse, a lot of events and concerts take place and also there is a nice ouzo café bar.
